The Covid Relief Project Starts Now!

Twenty years ago I had a realization that saved my life…

I’m not on this adventure of life alone.

The people I surround myself with have a significant influence on the change I want to see in my life and that couldn’t be truer in these uncertain times.

When Covid first hit last March I was just like you – everything changed.

All of a sudden we were hunkered down, I had three boys zooming from the house and an inconsistent work schedule that I was so thankful that people were forgiving of.

We were all just making the best of it, indulging in a little extra eating, some more television and other soothing habits. The streets were empty and so we could ride our bikes without the threat of traffic all around us.

I wanted to be supportive to the wider community as possible and opened up the Mindful Living Collective (MLC) for free to everyone.

This was intended to be an online space where people could gather with others who were wanting to integrate the generative teachings of mindfulness for healing, growth and transformation.

Six thousand people came from around the world to join in on this experience.

But now, ten months later, we’ve seen the impact and can predict the mental health crisis that is here and growing. Many of us have struggled with feeling alone and disconnected, the lack of regular contact with our loved ones or even just the regular physical contact of friends.

We’ve been overwhelmed with emotions of anxiety, fear, anger and what I call “grief bombs.” Moments where you just get hit with a malaise, almost a temporary depression. We realize those old soothing habits have started to catch up with us and feel disillusioned with it all.

Because of this, I’ve decided to double down on how the MLC can serve the larger community as a resource for social and emotional support during this time.

We already had an awesome team and now we’ve added Aaron Kahlow, who is founder of the Society for Social Health and Wellness to support this effort to deepen the offering of meaningful human connection and change.

We have reorganized the MLC to be a Covid Emotional Support and Relief Project to give you the meaningful connection, teachings and tools that are going to best support you through this time.

And it’s totally free!

There is SO much content out there to support us right now – but that only goes so deep. There’s no shortage of podcasts, books, or courses to tell us what might help us be healthier, happier, more productive or more resilient.

What we’re missing is the right people to help integrate it all into our minds and bodies – that makes all the difference and that’s what we’re all about.

I know for me, if I hadn’t found the right people to put around me 20 years ago, I may not be writing this article to you. I want this for you now…

Whether your Covid Relief need is social and emotional support, getting a meditation practice going, experiencing more self-love and resilience, building healthier relationships, or finding more calm and inner peace – this will be a uniquely generative space for you.

We’ve just begun to reach out to other leaders in the field to support this effort and have been heartened to hear back from organizations like 1440 Multiversity, Mindful.Org, Muse, Heartmath and leaders like Charles Eisenstein, Oren Jay Sofer and others. In addition to my own, they have generously agreed to share teachings they feel will serve us through this time.

I look forward to you feeling the social and emotional support you need and to harnessing this Collective to better support you on your path to healing, growth and transformation!

Warmly,

Elisha

P.S. When you come in, check out the Group if you’re interested, then go to Events and RSVP for what’s coming up next.
